Abstract | A fairly rich scolecodonts association of polychaetes jaw apparatuses belonging to the families Mochtyellidae, Oenonidae, and Paulinitidae was found in one upper Ordovician sample from Anticosti Island. Six new para-taxonomical combinations are proposed: Belegenys acis (Eller, 1945) comb. nov.; Leodicites arcuatus (Hinde, 1879) comb. nov.; Leodicites contractus (Hinde, 1882) comb. nov.; Leogenys anglicus (Hinde, 1880) comb. nov.; Paranereites angulatus (Eller, 1938) comb. nov.; Rhamphegenys uncinatus (Hinde, 1882) comb. nov. Among Mochtyellids, Staurocephalites sp. 1 exhibits a very distinctive character, i.e. second order denticles which are, up today, known only in some representatives of Dorvilleidae. This fact questions the reliability of the phyletic relationships between Tetraprionidae and Dorvilleidae. |
